Kukulu
Business Resources for Native Organizations

Aloha

Who We Are
In the Hawaiian language the word kukulu means to establish, build, and organize.  Kukulu Business Resources is a Native Hawaiian Organization with expertise in the areas of business, education, mental health, and Hawaiian culture.  Kukulu will harness its collective resources to help you grow and strengthen your organization.

What We Do
Kukulu offers culturally competent business related consultation, training, seminars, workshops, breakout sessions, and off-site retreats.

Who We Work With
Kukulu's passion is working with non-profit organizations (NPO) in general and Native Hawaiian NPO in particular.  Kukulu is also happy to work with for-profit corporations, community-based organizations, educational institutions, and faith-based organizations.

How We Work
After discussing your organization's concerns, Kukulu will develop a package of interventions to address identified needs.  A project team will be organized and deliver services to your organization.  After a period of acclimation (typically one to two months), Kukulu will assess the effectiveness of services provided and present your organization with a report and recommendations if required.

Where We Work
Based out of Hilo, Hawai'i, Kukulu provides its services to organizations throughout the State of Hawai'i and Pacific region.

Why We Do It
Kukulu is made up of individuals who call Hawai'i home and have a vested interest to make Hawai'i the best place to live for their 'ohana and future generations.  Kukulu helps non-profit organizations (NPO) be as effective and efficient as possible.  As Hawai'i's NPO develop greater capacity they will be better prepared to serve our island communities.  This in turn enhances and enriches Hawai'i's quality of life and makes Hawai'i a better place to live for everyone.

Pepe'e Logo
Kukulu has adopted the pepe'e as its logo.  Pepe'e is the Hawaiian word for a fern frond that is starting to unravel (see above).  The pepe'e's circular shape conveys a sense of perpetual forward motion; while its inward curl suggest a return to the point of origin.  The pepe'e begins its life in the shadows of the forest floor.  Unfurling as it grows, it must overcome the elements to successfully pierce the darkness as it reaches for light and sky.  Kukulu's logo symbolizes new beginnings, overcoming obstacles, positive change, and empowerment through cultural understanding.
